THE SPIRIT WILL SOAR Is it possible for a wounded spirit to soar? When there is no will and feelings are raw The spirit whispers “lift your head you are not done, This battle by My precious blood has been won” The enemy’s quest is to destroy but let your spirit rise Like an eagle it will soar and take the prize Feel the breath of God beneath your wings and fly The soul will follow the soul will touch the sky It takes the choice of faith to lift your head It takes courage to face the fear and say it’s dead Take the whole armour of God and stand Let God’s spirit of love hold you in His hand (this poem i wrote when i felt so alone on this journey of life.....God had to remind me that He was there he has never left and will never leave ) MOTHER
When I’m tired and need to rest, You hold me close with my head on your breast When I’m ill and the pain is too much to bear, You nurse me and show me that you care. When I’m lonely and sad, You hug me and that makes me glad When I need a shoulder on which to cry, You reach out and I know on you I can rely. When I need to talk and I have a problem to share, You are my friend and I know you’re always there. When I need guidance and direction, You give advice and necessary correction. When I’m feeling down I just look at your face, You just smile and light up the place. It’s Jesus I see in you, mother, And I love you like no other. Not only for all you do, But also because you’re you. EASTER
Is Easter just a time for a hot cross bun? Camping, holidays and having fun? Going to the beach and relaxing where it’s warm and sunny or eating chocolates, Easter eggs and an Easter bunny? Easter is a time to reflect on the Cross of Calvary Where Jesus blood was shed for you and me He laid down His life unselfishly So that mankind can live their lives purposefully With joyful hearts we render praise to him As on the third day from the dead He arose again Easter reminds us that over death we have the victory And with our God we will live and reign eternally A DREAM OF HEAVEN
This is heaven, as the sun will never set Of the dark and its evils I need not fret The trees with leaves to give the shade Flowers with colours that will not fade Crystal clear water from a fountain Rippling rivers from the mountain The roads are paved with pure gold With ivory palaces to behold Animals all around, of every kind And all so very tame you will find The Lion and the Lamb together They will be friends forever Children laughing birds singing Joy to this blessed place bringing No more tears no more sighing No more pain no more dying A city called the new Jerusalem Shining like a precious gem Only those who stand without shame In the book of life will find their name I see His face shining like the sun His hair white as wool nothing undone This must be heaven this must be As everything is perfect just waiting for me (This Poem is based on a dream I had of Heaven just shortly after my Dad died......maybe not doctrinely correct but it was a consolation to my CHRISTMAS
Is Christmas just a time of goodwill and cheer? The singing of carols and songs we love to hear? Is Christmas a time when we are all in such good moods? When we eat our roast turkey and such lovely foods? Is Christmas the cakes, pies, pudding with nuts, fruit and cherry? When families gather to laugh, sing, dance and be merry? Is Christmas the trees, tinsel, lights, presents with pretty bows, The fun in the sun, walking in the rain or a snowman where it snows? Is Christmas the bubbly champagne or sparkling wine? When we toast and say our well wishes with those we dine? Christmas, who will remember why we celebrate? It’s the birthday of one so good, so glorious, so great. Christmas, it’s the Christ, the Saviour, the King whom we adore Our God, our Lord, our Master and our Friend forever more. (This Poem I wrote when I saw how the meaning of Christmas was lost to the world especially when "Christ" was taken out of Christmas and became "Xmas") This first book I dedicated to Lionel, my husband, my best friend........he was and still is such a support and encouragement to me.......love you always!
AN UNBORN BABY’S CRY
I speak from a very safe place they say I’m in my mother’s womb, conceived one blessed day I’ve been formed by God and I’m now a person I can feel, I can move and I lay here and listen Every move my mother makes, I can feel I don’t worry; she must be preparing my meal I hear her laugh, I hear her sigh I sense her sadness, I hear her cry But I know she’s my mom no harm will come I just peacefully lay here and suck my thumb I know I’m not a mistake and need not fear God has planned my life and watches over me here Mother I long to see your face, your smile But I’m not ready to be born yet, not for a while I sense there is trouble in this place of rest I feel such terrible pain; I am in great distress Oh mother why am I being hurt, Oh why? I’m not ready for the world, I will surely die This is not God’s way, I’m a person, I’m whole Oh mother you destroy my body but not my soul This Poem "An Unborn Baby's Cry" was written when the abortion laws was passed and it was really a sad day as the sanctity of life of the voiceless young was ignored.
